Welcome to my blog. Besides my normal everyday life, I quilt, work in a quilt shop, and love to read quilt blogs. I embroider, do counted cross stitching, tat, crochet, knit and want to learn anything that requires the use of needles and thread. Come back often to see what new project I am working on or to read a tip or two.

Kitchen Quilter, WIPs

I have had several requests for a printout of the Kitchen Quilter program I did at Suppose Creative Guild at the first of this month.  It is over on the right under Tutorials.

You can see a couple of new buttons over there too.  Yes, I have joined Stash Bee and Doll Quilters Swap.  I think they will both be a lot of fun.  I get to use my stash, my new book on doll quilts and get presents from other quilters every month.  Its like a world quilt guild.

I promised pictures of more WIPs.  These are handstitching projects for a finishing contest at our local embroidery store.

A redwork panel .  This is only half.  There is one window for each month.

A Crabapple Hill garden angel.  There are four, one for each season. Sorry its not a great photo.

A candlewicking pillow.  All it needs is a pillow form to insert.  Of course I must finish the stitching.  It will happen.

Now I must run.  I'm working on a store sample quilt I want to get done so I can get back to some handwork.

Keep quilting and stay happy.

Working Hard

Thanks everyone for your kind comments on my last post.  The excitement has died down and I am still working hard.

This is a quilt I am working on for Suppose, the quilt store where I work.  It is so fun to get to sew brand new fabrics.  This is Half Moon Modern.

These are some crazy quilt blocks for the CQJP 2012 challenge I am working on.  Some are done, some are started and some are naked.  Can you guess which is my favorite?

Mr. Peacock has lots of bling.  I think he is gorgeous.  The block just to his right in the previous picture has a center circle piece that I copied from some earrings my friend was wearing in church one day. It is all done in metallic thread.  I'm going to ask her if she recognizes it.

This will be the 12" center of my crazy quilt which will be surrounded by the twelve 6" blocks.  Now you know I am serious about doing this challenge.  All these lovely pieces except the center circle are from linings my daughter tore out of wool clothing and silk scraps she gave me.  I think the blue and pink center will also be my quilt back.

That's all for now.  Next time I'll show some other WIPs.  Stay happy and keep quilting.

Big News

I have nothing to show tonight, but I have some very exciting news.  Last fall I submitted 13 quilt label designs to C&T Publishers for a CD that will come out in July. I thought it would be fun if they accepted one. Yesterday I got a letter from C&T Pub.  All thirteen of my designs will be on The Quilt Label Collective CD--Volume 2.  What a surprise.  I am so excited.  I am going to be able to say I am a published designer.

Well, back to my stitching and piecing.  Keep quilting and stay happy.
